"To develop more affordable housing in the underserved areas of Arkansas, we must create a partnership between individuals and the public and private sectors...the public sector must create opportunities for individuals to expand their knowledge of way to access affordable housing and to help to expand the availability of affordable housing."
- Senator Blanche Lincoln, 2005

Housing Arkansas was formed in 2008 to campaign for the development and funding of state housing trust fund that would provide a dedicated source of public revenue to meet the crucial housing needs of working Arkansans. On March 30, 2009, Governor Beebe signed SB396 into law that allowed for the creation of a state housing trust fund. This law is known as Act 661. This authorizing legislation represents a key first step toward making affordable housing a reality for more Arkansans. However, funding is needed. You can be a voice for us as continue our efforts to ensure safe, decent housing in reach for many of your neighbors, family members and friends.
